The history of the icon of the Holy Mother of God takes its source back in 1550. The icon was in the house of the landowner Anna Goiska for about 30 years, when it suddenly began to emanate shine. Anna's brother Philip, who was blind from birth, began to pray to the Mother of God and regain his sight. After that, the miraculous icon was transferred to the Pochaev Monastery. Because of hatred for Orthodoxy, Anna's nephew after her death stole the icon, as he and his wife were overtaken by serious illness. Only after the icon was returned to the monastery, the couple were able to be healed.
The Pochaev Icon of the Holy Mother of God is famous for many healings. Many pilgrims from all over Ukraine, Serbia, Moldova, Russia and Belarus turns to the Mother of God for help from physical and mental illness.
On the back of the pendant is a prayer to the Mother of God.
