There is an ancient legend about "Vladimir" which was written by the Apostle Luke. To draw the picture he used a large piece of a board from the table at which Jesus Christ eat. It is said in the legend that the Blessed Virgin after seeing the image was very impressed. The icon is covered by the original decoration in the form of a vine. It symbolizes heavenly ordinances which can be opened to every prayer and pure faith.
