The manual on the "Law of God" by Archpriest Serafim Slobodsky (1912-1971) has a truly remarkable destiny, written back in 1957 for our emigration in America, it survived several reprints in Russian and English, and in the early 90's it came to the Russian to the Orthodox reader. There are several textbooks of the 'Law of God' by different authors, but the work of Father Seraphim of Slobodsky is rightfully considered to be the best one.For many years now it has been the main textbook for Sunday and church general schools, and not only children but also adults The composition of the book has long become a classic, so that its chapters now contain exam questions for students entering theological schools, regency classes and seminaries of the Russian Orthodox Church.

None of the textbooks on the Law of God had and still does not have such popularity as the textbook of Archpriest Serafim Slobodsky. For the time of publication of the book, it was the most modern in language, style and form of presentation textbook. Archpriest Serafim Slobodskoy not only expounds the biblical story, the foundations of the Orthodox dogma, but leads as confirmation of the science data of that time. In addition, the author himself taught many children and fully transferred his pedagogical experience to the pages of the textbook.
