The New Testament is part of the Bible (Holy Scripture).
The word "testament" in the language of the Bible means a well-known decree, on which two contracting parties converge, and hence the treaty itself or the union itself, and also the external signs that served as its identity, that is, the books themselves, on which the title was transferred Covenant. The Old Testament also contains a prophetic reference to the New Testament in the famous prophecy of Jeremiah.
In the New Testament there are 27 sacred books: the four Gospels, the book of the Acts of the Apostles, seven Catholic Epistles, fourteen Epistles of the Apostle Paul and Apocalypse. John the Theologian.
