Holy Martyr Juliya was born in Carthage in a Christian family. When she was a little girl she was captured by the Persians. She was taken to Syria and sold into slavery. Fulfilling the Christian commandments, the holy Juliya faithfully served to her master, kept herself clean, observed the fasts and prayed a lot to the Lord. No way her pagan master could not persuade her to idolatry.
One day the owner went to Gaul for the goods and took Juliya with him. When the ship landed on the island of Corsica, the owner decided to take part in a pagan festival but Juliya remained on the ship. Corsicans drank the merchant and his companions wine. When they went to sleep those people brought Juliya from the ship. Saint Juliya was not feared to admit that she was a Christian and the distraught pagans crucified her on the cross.
About the death of the Holy Martyrlocatedhe the angel of the Lord said to the monks of the monastery. They were on the neighboring island. The monks took the body and buried the saint in the church of the monastery. Around 763, the relics of the Holy Martyr Juliya were transferred to the convent of the city Breschii.
