On the obverse of the cross-relic is depicted the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. To the right of the Lord - the Mother of God and St. Mary of Cleopas, to the left - the holy Apostle John and Saint Longinus Sotnik. All these saints, together with the Mother of God, were on Calvary when the Savior was executed. On the back of the cross are written lines from the prayer to the Holy Cross, read in the face of spiritual and worldly dangers: May God arise and His enemies will be scattered, and flee from His hating His face. As soon as smoke disappears, they disappear; As wax melts from the face of fire, so that demons perish from the face of those who love God. On the inner lintel of the relic is written a prayer read in every sorrow of the soul and the circumstance - the sticheron from the Moleben Canon to the Blessed Virgin Mary: Do not commit to the human predestination, Most Holy Lady, but receive the supplication of Your servant: sorrow grants me, I can not die shooting, Imam, below where I resort to the accursed, always overcome, and comfort not to the Imam, unless to You, the Lady of Peace, the hope and representation of the faithful, do not despise my supplication, it is helpful to create. Nearby on the inner leaf is placed the image of the Protection of the Holy Virgin. The Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God is a remembrance of the miracle that occurred in Vlachner Church on October 1 (14), 910: The Blessed Virgin appeared to the believers above the altar of the temple and spread out Her veil over them. On this day, the Mother of God revealed to the people that She is a Meddler for them before God. The Mother of God extends her prayer cover over all Orthodox Christians and begs her Son to grant eternal salvation to every person.
