To separate the church space into zones, various fences are used. As you know, the temple is divided into several conventional plots:

- the porch, which is allowed only to penitent sinners

- a temple intended for the faithful parishioners

- an altar, the entrance to which is accessible only to the clergy

The catwalk, located in front of the entrance to the altar, is called a saline. Sermons are read from here, and there is a place for the choir on either side. It is customary to insulate it with a special grating. Such a fence is not only a decorative element, but also of great practical importance, since it divides the temple into different segments.
