Later, during the great persecutions against Christians under the Roman emperor Valerian, the righteous Galina and the other wives of the city of Corinth, imitating Saint Codrat, who was tortured for the faith in Christ, voluntarily went to the agony. They could take refuge, but they did not. In 258 AD, the torturers hanged stones on their necks and drowned them.
