Chrysanthus and Darius of Rome were husband and wife. Chrysanthus was from Alexandria, he moved with his pagan father to Rome, where he studied at the school of philosophy. The townspeople complained to the authorities that Chrysanthus and Darius were calling for a celibate life and many were able to persuade them to do so. The couple were brought to court, where they were tortured, and then executed.
