The Apostle Peter is one of the most zealous followers of the Christian teaching of the Savior, for which he received his name (in Greek, "petros" - rock, stone). He converted many people to Christianity. Since St. Peter was the most beloved of the disciple of Jesus Christ and the strongest in the faith, he is entrusted with the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.
