By adopting the Christian faith in the early years, St. Vadim went into the desert for solitude. Over time, he founded a monastery where flocked ascetics who sought seclusion from the madding crowd. When the persecution of Christians by the Persian king, and the monks of the monastery of St. Vadim was seized and thrown into prison. Every day they give in to torture, demanding to renounce Christ. St. Vadim was killed by one of the Forsaken Christians. His example inspired a multitude of devotees of Christ. And to this day the Church honors this wondrous ascetic.
