Getting married at the young age with the Czech prince, later she and her husband were baptized by Methodius the founder of Slavic Literature. Then Saint Ludmila beginning to spread and defend the Christian faith in the Czech lands. Having lived a decent Christian life she was treacherously murdered by slander relatives. She became the first Czech saint and martyr, and is now considered the patron of her native land.
