Icon of the Virgin Semistrelnaya or Softener of Evil Hearts is one of the most respected in the Orthodox world. In the XIX century, this image became famous thanks to the wonders that the Mother of God made through him. For many years the icon was in oblivion and instead of lying reproach steps on the stairs of the old bell tower near the small church in honor of St. John the Divine (near Vologda).
