The holy queen Tamara for Georgia did as much as Vladimir the Great undertook for Russia. She made every effort to ensure that the Christian faith spread and strengthened on Georgian and Ossetian soil. Contemporaries called the Holy Queen Tamara god-like, and in the Orthodox giving her name the Great. The time of her reign is called the golden age of Georgian history.
