Saint Anastasia - revered by Orthodox Christians as an assistant in childbirth.
Anastasia was born into a noble Roman family at the time when the empire was still pagan. Her mother was a Christian, but carefully concealed this fact for fear of reprisals from the authorities. His daughter she raised in the Orthodox faith. When Anastasia grew, it began to help Christians who were imprisoned in a Roman prison for their beliefs. Hence it took the nickname of Sirmium, that is the one that reduces suffering.
During the Great persecution of Christians by the Roman emperor Deokletiana, she passed through many cities of Macedonia and Greece, helping persecuted every way possible. The Sirmium (present-day Serbia), she was captured, brutally tortured and put to death.
Within a few decades, when the persecution ceased, Anastasia has been recognized by the Holy One, and in Rome in her honor was erected a church, which has been preserved until now.
