Holy Myron lived in the time of persecution by the pagan Roman government against the Christian Church. He served as a priest in the province of Achaia in Greece. In the 250 year celebration of Christmas during worship in the temple broke persecutors of Christians led by the local governor Antipater. They tried to arrest the present, but the priest was the courage to protect his flock. During this Miron betrayed especially cruel tortures. Holy patiently endured all the torture, but it was not broken. At the end of the torture he swelled his head with a sword. Martyr Myron has long been revered in the Orthodox Church as an example of devotion to God and his neighbor.
