Mother of God Icon Ekonomissa the people has a name - Domostroitelnitsa. This is one of the five main icons of the Virgin on Mount Athos. This divine face was written after the appearance of the Virgin Elder Athanasius. It happened in the 10th century. Elder Athanasius founded a monastery on Mount Athos. In connection with the hunger all the monks left the monastery. According to legend, the Virgin told the monk that from now on he can be sure of his abode, as it will be the patron of her own. To confirm his holy occasion only she ordered the old man to hit a rock with his staff, from which poured the holy spring.
