St. Sergiy Radonezhsky from a young age followed the example of the first Christian hermits, and left in a remote for solitude and prayer forest. Having built a small church later, it gave rise to the base of monastic cloister, which later became known as the Monastery of St. Sergius. There he spent his life, constantly practicing prayer and spiritual struggles. The Lord performed many miracles through the prayers of St. Sergius. Having lived a pious and devotional life, Sergius died peacefully and went to the Lord, leaving us an example of impeccable life in Christ.
