Holy Prince Yuri was the son of Grand Prince Vsevolod, nicknamed the Big Nest. He was distinguished military prowess and piety. March 4, 1238 Duke fell in battle, defending his native land from the raids of the Mongol troops of Batu Khan. His body was buried in the bishop Cyril Rostov Cathedral.
