The prelate Nicholas The Wonderworker or as he is called in Russia, Nikola Ugodnik, the most esteemed orthodox Saint. He lived in the second half of the 3rd century and the Worlds where has become famous for many miracles and affairs of mercy were the bishop of the Lycian city. Already during lifetime began to pray to him as the Saint, asking help in desperate situations. In his life it is told about the infinite number of miracles which he made during lifetime and which doesn't stop creating till today.
The Saint helps seamen, travelers, dealers, pupils, patients and even revives the dead. Pray to him for protection against evil forces and the help in affairs. That is why icons of the prelate Nikolay are not only in all temples, but also in each house, and many never leave his image. The church celebrates memory of the prelate Nikolay on December 6/19 — day of death and on May 9/22 — day of arrival of relics in the city of Bari.
