This icon is one of the most complex in composition and symbolic interpretation. It depicts the Mother of God in the form of a burning bush, which, according to the teachings of the Church, is one of its Old Testament type. This image has a unique value, since it represents the orthodox idea of the Virgin Mary. Like the burning bush remained intact at the time when the fire took hold of her, the Virgin Mary after giving birth of Jesus Christ remained a virgin. The icon has been known since the first centuries of Christianity. Much later, in the XVI century icon of the acquired complex spiritual and allegorical symbolism in the form of an octagonal star. Also, it is filled with many Old Testament imagery that revealed in the subjects at the edges of the icon. Many lists with this image became famous in Russia after the Queen of Heaven has identified many miracles through them. Orthodox Christians in front of the icon of the Mother of God asked about intercession and healing of mental and physical ailments.
